February 22, 2010 - Etraffic Solutions announced today it has been granted
service provider approval by the Illinois State Board of Education for its teacher
and principal professional development products and services.
The Accelerated School Administrator Program is a renowned online assessment
and leadership development program that has enhanced leadership skills for
principals and principal candidates in Florida since 2001. Aligned with the ISLLC
standards, it is offered throughout the United States as a key component in many district level professional development plans.
Teacher Essentials is an extensive library of lesson modules and instructional
videos which will now provide Continuing Professional Development Unit credits
to Illinois teachers who complete the approved course materials.
The Illinois approval is for a term of three fiscal years, allowing Illinois educators
to claim credit toward certificate renewal under the requirements of the State
Teacher Certification Board.
"This is an exciting step for us," said Rick Wiertz, Director of Professional
Development for Etraffic Solutions. "Along with recent approvals in Montana and
North Dakota, Etraffic online and blended learning opportunities are being used
by instructors and educational leaders in states across the country, not only to
expand their capabilities, but to meet or exceed the requirements of certification. Illinois is a highly respected and influential jurisdiction and an important step for
us."
Etraffic Solutions has partnered with Kilgore and Associates to launch the first
Midwest School Leaders Academy in Livonia, Michigan in March.
"ASAP will provide the cornerstone for this blended professional development
program and we hope to see many Illinois educators taking advantage of the
growth opportunities it will provide on an ongoing basis," said Wiertz.
The first Midwest School Leaders Academy will be held March 18-20 at the New
Horizons Center in Livonia. The online portion of the learning program continues
for a three month period, to completion and granting of continuing education
credit. Cohort intake will be ongoing on a monthly basis, so participants who
cannot attend the first Academy in March will be able to sign up for a May or June start date. For more information, contact Christine Harrison, program coordinator, at christine@etrafficsolutions.com.
